Covid Wedding Rules

Due to new proposed legislation, couples in England and Wales could be allowed to marry outdoors or in the comfort of their own homes. Currently, the law only allows for couples to marry inside a place or within a licensed venue. The Law Commission of England and Wales want couples to be able to marry in beaches, parks, private gardens, cruise ships and more.

When Will Weddings Be Allowed?

Boris Johnson announced recently that it is his “belief” that due to the vaccine programme that weddings should be able to happen “in the normal way”.

“If you’re thinking about the summer, I think you’ll be alright… it is my strong hope and belief that by the summer, one way or the other, whether delivered by vaccination (which I hope will be delivered by Easter) or by lateral flow testing, it will be a different world.” – Boris Johnson
